Jess Meniere & the studio

Jess is a 500-hour advanced yoga-teacher who qualified from the Wellness Connection in Hout-Bay (2018) and has 2 1/2 years of teaching experience. Jess has a deep fervour for a powerful and strong energising flow, offering strong vinyasa classes for all levels. Equally, she compliments her creative and dynamic vinyasa classes by offering slower restorative and yin yoga classes, as well as leads meditations and mindfulness workshops. 

 

Instructing from her beautiful home-based studio in the heart of Tokai, a tranquil, family-oriented village, her studio is fully equipped. The studio offers weekly group classes, as well as private sessions. Welcoming everyone and every-body, The Core Concept’s core-values lay in connecting to one’s core physically, mentally and emotionally.  

CLASSES

Styles of Yoga on Offer

The Core Concept offers a variety of yoga styles to ensure that you can find the right movement for your body. Choose to move fast, break a sweat, build strength, or be still, slow down and breathe. 

Vinyasa Flow

A 60-minute all-level power class. Each class works towards a peak-pose through a creative and fun yoga sequence. Build strength while stretching and breaking a sweat. 

A 60-minute class that works towards a peak-pose with fewer transitions and longer holds. Includes breathwork and an extended Shavasana at the end of practice. 

Slow Flow

A 60-minute extremely slow class. Works towards subtle stretching and supports the body in longer holds with yoga props. Focuses on breathwork and includes meditations. 

Restorative 

Mindfulness

A 60-minute workshop style class which focuses on various meditations, breathing techniques, journaling, the art of mindful listening & mindful eating.

The Benefits of Yoga

Through Jess' practice she has seen an improvement in both physical and mental strength, as yoga has provided her with a safe space to reflect and grow. It has taught her about both literal and conceptual balance. Her yoga practices also help support her long-distance endurance running, surfing and recreational freediving.

The classes at The Core Concept are movement-focused. As a western-instructor, Jess sees herself as a movement-facilitator. While Jess honors and understands the history and origin of yoga's roots, Jess ques and instructors from a "modernised" perspective. She creates a space that does not impose on one's spiritual or holistic practices; rather, The Core Concept is an all inclusive and welcoming studio.
